Offline applications

PloppSL

A simple cross-platform tool, designed primarily for children.  Comes with a library of several cartoon-like shapes (fish, horse, sheep, …) that can be inflated into 3D models, saved as sculpt maps, and uploaded as textures into Second Life.  You can also import your own images simply by dragging and dropping the image file onto the Plopp workspace, but ensure beforehand that everything other than the object to be modeled (i.e. the background) is transparent.  Note that because the 3D model will be symmetrical front-back:

• you will need to ensure that your graphic is truly full side on or full face on
• and, if full face on, you will need to edit the back with the paint tools
