“Virtual World, Real Millions”

Many thanks to VR student and SL resident R1ch Paulse (Richard Poulsen) for letting me have a copy of the BBC Money Programme broadcast, Virtual World, Real Millions. First broadcast in June 2007, Michael Tuft’s documentary examines the business opportunities offered by Second Life, highlights the importance of the in-world Linden dollar as a convertible currency, and documents the investment in a SL presence of several major companies and corporations.

Although not directly relevant to educational uses of Second Life, clearly the greater the investment from industry the more mainline a platform SL becomes for the rest of us.
